Over the past few months I have been slowly ticking off things from my 101 things in 1001 days list but one thing I have really been longing to do was to donate a wedding package to a couple in need. Happily I was able to do just that this past weekend. You may have read about Stephanie and Mike Lamb in yesterday’s Ottawa Citizen but I want to share with you another part of the story that you didn’t read about.
Stephanie and Michael are one of those wonderful couples who’s love for each other absolutely beams from them whenever they are together. I can’t emphasize just how much their feelings for one another show in the way they look at each other, in the way they touch, and in the way they talk with one another.
Recently Michael went down on one knee and made one of Stephanie’s dreams come true by asking for her hand in marriage! Unfortunately, Stephanie is battling stage 4 cervical cancer and due to some uncertainty about her health they decided to organize their big day on a tight schedule. So in only two weeks they managed to put together a wonderful day, a dream wedding if ever there was one.
One of Stephanie’s friends (who happens to be one of my former brides)remembered reading my list and knew that I was eager to help out a couple in need. She quickly contacted me and began to share Stephanie and Mike’s story. Afterwards, she asked if I was available on their planned date and if I would be willing to donate my time. Happily I was available and I jumped at the opportunity to be part of their special celebration.
From the moment I met Stephanie I was moved by her courage and determination. She was destined to have a perfect wedding day… and it certainly was. Everything came into place and everyone involved had a wonderful time, especially the newlyweds!
I was blessed to be part of such a wonderful celebration. My thoughts and prayers are with Stephanie and Mike and I wish them happiness and love.

I also want to add that even though I wouldn’t have had that on my list, I would have photograph Stephanie and Mike’s wedding in a heart beat. It was the least I could do for such a deserving couple!
