Nicole & Francois :: Wedding

Nicole and Frank are so happy to be in love! They were the perfect couple to jump start the summer wedding season for me. It’s really nice to meet up again with couples that I met sometime ago and to see how their day ends up unfolding.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before but Perth has to be one of the nicest places I can think of to get married. I was so happy when I found out that Nicole and Frank’s ceremony was going to take place outside at Stewart Park, followed by a reception at the nearby historic Code’s Mill. I couldn’t have asked for prettier locations. The outdoor ceremony complete with bagpipes was outstanding!  Nicole arrived at the park in a horse drawn carriage and walked down a path strewn with rose petals. Once married, the newlyweds made their way to the reception hall to be greeted by family and friends. What a perfect day!

Nicole made her own veil and it turned out perfect!

Look at those stunning eyes!

Julin & Rusli :: Bridal

As promised, here are some of Julin and Rusli’s bridal photos. They decided to get some shots in their wedding attire BEFORE the wedding and of course – I was smitten! Did I mentioned how excited I am for their wedding?!

I love me some sunflare!

Julin & Rusli :: Engagement

As I mentioned earlier, the true reason for my trip out West was to shoot Julin and Rusli’s engagement photos. I cannot even begin to explain what a fantastic couple these two are. I couldn’t have asked for a better pair to have met up with somewhere that wasn’t familiar to me. As soon as we met face to face, I felt at ease.

The day was spent driving around the Banff area looking for locations, laughing at anything and everything, and sharing just about everything we could cram about our lives in just a few hours time. Not only were they amazing to be around, but the shots that we got were out of this world! The Rockies had to have been the nicest backdrops I’ve ever had to work with!

Julin had mentioned to me that she wanted to do a few themes for their session. Although some of the themes she thought of weren’t possible due to the weather, we still managed to get loads of great shots. It’s a photographers dream when a couple is up for just about anything and Julin and Rusli were just that couple!
With their themes came props and I was in heaven! Working with props is so much fun, it really makes my job even more amazing…

With all the fun that we had, the day passed by in the blink of an eye. At the end of it though we had tons of great memories to look back on. I am so excited to see them again in Vancouver BC for the wedding in September!

Julin and Rusli also decided to have a pre bridal session. Those images up next :)

Trip out West

Recently, I went out to Calgary, Alberta (mainly Banff) to shoot a very sweet engagement session and those images will be up on the blog very shortly. But first, I thought I would share some photos I took that represent my view on the beauty from out West.

This short lived trip really made me realize how gorgeous our country really is. It made me appreciate that beauty can simply be found at home and I will definitely be going back very soon!

The Rockies really were majestic…

The Hoodoos:

This next shot was my very favourite and it was taken at the end of my trip, while driving quite a distance to the airport. I’ve always wanted to see wild horses and finally got to see them! This field was full of them but this one guy was the most photogenic. Due to his curiosity, I was able to snap a few great pictures of him.

This trip also allowed me to scratch a few things off my ‘100 things in 1001 days‘ list!
