Random findings :: Thirteen

Whoa! I am long overdue for one of these! I cannot believe that October is almost over and November is coming at us in full force already! Soon the ground will be covered in puffy white snow and Santa will be visiting once again. I have many clients who all want winter sessions and that makes me extremely happy. There is no need to be afraid of the cold weather when it comes to your session. There are so many great photo ops to be had in the winter time! Just throw on some Uggs and a nice warm jacket and we’ll make the most of the chilly, crisp season!

And what’s a post without a picture? I was going through my images the other day and came across this little gem:

While photographing the bridal party at a wedding this summer, I turned around and noticed my little mentoree mimicking me by my side :)

I also wanted to take this time to sincerely thank all of my clients, family and friends for their extreme patience. Autumn is by far my busiest time of year and this year has been no exception! I value my work immensely and just want everyone to know that I am working hard on each and every order that is still pending. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so kind and so patient with me during this time!

Maxine & Michael :: Engagement

Maxine and Michael booked their wedding date quite a while ago and I have had the pleasure of meeting them a few times since. They are such a genuinely nice couple and you can see just how content they are by the aura that glows from within them when they are together.

I am so lucky to have such great clients. It makes me incredibly happy to work with people who are constantly smiling and in love. I am so fortunate that I keep meeting people like Maxine and Michael who remind me everyday that love is one of the main things that makes the world go round :)

Look at the intense look that Michael is giving me! Amazing…

Meaghan & Greg :: Wedding

After a cool and wet summer we finally enjoyed some sunny and warm weather in September but now that October has rolled around the weather has done a complete 360 and we are back to cold, wet and miserable.

Even though most of this month has been grey and damp, Meaghan and Greg were amazingly blessed with gorgeous sunny weather on their wedding day. It must have been mother nature’s wedding gift to the happy couple. ;)

The emotional ceremony at Manotick United Church was followed by a fun reception at Lago Bar on the shore of Ottawa’s Dow’s lake. The party picked up quickly with plenty of cocktails and super yummy appetizers being served.

Wow what a funny group of people! Everyone in the wedding party kept me on my toes! We all had a great time during the shoot and we laughed – a lot!!

It was a great day for a great couple and I was really happy to be part of it. I hope you two had a fantastic time in New York :)

On a different note – I have LOADS of blog posts to catch up on (yea, yea you’ve all heard it before). Unfortunately, I won’t be able to post absolutely everything I’ve been shooting lately (I just cannot find the time right now!). I have a blast at every single shoot I do and wish I can share every single moment with all of you but unfortunately I need to catch up on some of this work!

Tweet Tweet

Alright, I caved. I started a Twitter account. At first, I was against it. I mean who cares what I’m eating for breakfast or what colour of socks I’m wearing right? I think I read once on Twitter about my friend locking his keys in his car, and instead of calling CAA or do something about it, he tweeted about it first!? I mean, REALLY!?

Anyway, like I said – I gave in. Whether I like it or not, in the end, it’s a great blogging tool. I am still trying to figure out how to use it but it seems interesting so far. I am sticking to my word that I won’t be stuck to my phone 24/7 updating my feed though…We’ll see how long that lasts…

Annie & Tara :: Engagement

I met up with Annie and Tara at Kingsmere north of Ottawa. What was supposed to be an engagment session also turned out to be a hike in the Gatineau Park!

Actually, we weren’t the only ones who decided to enjoy the beautiful fall colours. There were tons of people in the park trying to make the most out of what might just be the last bit of nice weather we have before winter rolls around and slaps us in the face haha!

Annie and Tara were total troopers; from hiking down to waterfalls in heels, to walking on slippery logs, they were up for anything! I love when my clients are just as eager to get ‘that shot’ as I am. I sure had a great time with them and I’m really excited for their wedding at Strathmere next June.
