I was inspired by Susan’s post from the EnPointe Photography blog to make a list of things I wanted to accomplish before my next birthday. I never usually make a New Years resolution but I am queen at making to do lists! So I thought this was a good way of encouraging me to get stuff done! Some are important, some are just plain silly, but they mean something to me somehow. My birthday is September 9th let’s see how many I actually get done! I will check them off my list once I get them done and will refer back to it once in a while just to see where I’m at.
- Buy a 45mm tilt shift lens
- Plant a bigger garden including herbs this time **Update** Planted a graden and got some herbs at the my new house!
- Sign up for a Pilates or Yoga class **Update** Taking Pilate classes!
- Get a pedicure **Update** Thanks mom!
- Finish my personal photo book **Update** I didn’t get to do this. This year my main focus was my sample wedding books and products for the business which didn’t give me much time to do anything with my personal work.
- Spend a full weekend by a lake reading and relaxing **Update ** Did that a couple times this summer.
- Break a bad habit (I’m a nasty nail biter) **Update** My nails have grown out! Woohoo!
- Be more green **Update**The new house has made this much easier for me to do ;)
- Get all of my sample wedding books and products done and organized **Update** Super excited to get those done! They look great!
- Go on a roadtrip somewhere completely different and farther then usual and bring my camera along **Update**Went driving around New York and brought my new tilt shift.
- Shoot my sister’s belly and newborn
**Update** Done and done! - Buy my first home! **Update** OMG! This was a biggy and I did it!
- Cook and bake more often **Update** Again, the new house has made this easier for me as well, totally baked a cake second day I was there! Yay!
- Volunteer somewhere where people are in need **Update** I feel bad that I didn’t make the time to do this. I was swamped and know that isn’t an excuse. BUT I know where I want to volunteer and sign up is in April so I will be doing that this upcoming year!
- Build up the courage to get my wisdom teeth taken out **Update** I only need one taken out and it doesn’t need to be now!
- Print & frame personal photos for my own home **Update** OMG I’m sure any photographer can relate to this. I take so many pictures but cannot find the time to print my work for my own home! This will be a good project for the Winter…
- Attend a Bridal Show or an Art Show **Update** Yay! I have a booth at the Bridal Show this year!
- Pay off my school loans **Update** I am SO close to paying it off!
- Get my teeth whitened **Update** Got my whitening kit from the dentist!
- Take time to phone or hang out with friends I haven’t seen in a while **Update** This one was tough as I was so busy with weddings this summer, but I did try my best to do so. Although there are still a few friends that I’d love to spend more time with
- Go berry picking this summer. Raspberry preferably! **Update** Did it and they were tasty!
- Start learning guitar **Update** I have a guitar that has been collecting dust…sadly I have not even thought about getting lessons.
- Do something nice to someone anonymously **Update**Ok it wasn’t exactly anonymous, but they didn’t know me and weren’t expecting it at all. It was quite the suprise!
- Get a bike and do as much biking as possible **Update** I have been looking for one that I like but still haven’t gotten one just yet.
I think I’ll add one last one…blogging more! After this month, I promise to blog more. I have tons of personal photos that I took that I want to share but just can’t find the time. I do have a good excuse though! I am getting ready for my 2009 weddings! I have been booking many weddings for 2009 as well as getting the products ready for them too.
That being said, if you have a wedding in 2009 and would like my services, please email me asap to see if your date is still available!
