Creative shoot :: Chantal

I had been planning on doing this shoot for a while now. Even though I am constantly taking pictures of gorgeous people getting married, smiling families or adorable newborns, I am still up for a creative session inspired by things that I sometimes envision or just want to have plain ol’ fun! Some of you ask me how I even find the time? I sometimes ask myself the same question, but when you have a vision and a plan, you just make time. For me, photography is not just a job, it’s a passion! I just love what I do and can’t get enough of it.

Not only do I do these shoots to feed my soul and mind but I do them because they help push my creative and technical side. I try different and new techniques that might be useful in the future and learn skills that might come in handy during an actual shoot with a client.

I couldn’t have asked for a better model to pose in these freezing cold conditions yet still do such a wicked job. Thanks Chantal – you are the best! I can always count on my best friend to dress up and pose for me :)

Meanwhile, I had the pleasure of having someone film me while working on this shoot. We are still working on the short segment which might be added to my ‘about me’ section on the site. I’ll post it here as soon as it’s done!

Last booking updates…

As mentioned before, in order to give my clients my 100%, I limit the number of weddings that I photograph every year. That number being 30 and this post is to let everyone know that I am fully booked for 2010! I won’t be taking any more bookings for weddings except maybe one or 2 in the less busy months of November and December.

I am so delighted with each and every one of my future bride and grooms. I cannot wait to share and capture your special with you!

Also, this is to let all of you parents-to-be know that I will be taking on a number of newborn sessions this winter. Please contact me if you are expecting sometime in the very near future to book your newborn shoot. Newborn sessions take place in the comfort of your own home, utilizing natural light and props that I bring along. Newborns are typically photographed between 2 weeks of being born so please contact me asap or pass on the message to all of your pregnant friends! It is always best to book your newborn session during your 3rd trimester or if you’re a little later then that, just contact me before or as soon as your bundle of joy is born. That way I can squeeze you into the schedule!

What’s a post without a picture? I’ll leave you with a shot I took a while back of little Miss ‘P’.

Tania & Frank :: Engagement

It seems as though everyone wants pictures in the fall when the leaves are changing colors, but my favorite time of year to shoot is the end of autum when the trees are completely bare, the ground is crisp, and the plants have all turned brown and gone to sleep… I find nature beautiful in so many ways, even when the colours and warm weather have been stripped away to await the inevitible snowy days.

I’m currently shooting my last few sessions of the year and I am loving it because of the dull colors out there (it seems strange to say I guess). With the sun low in the sky, the light is also gorgeous this time of year (when the sun actually decides to peak out of the clouds from time to time).

Last weekend I had the pleasure of shooting Tania and Frank. Lately we’ve been blessed with some unusually warmer then normal weather for this time of year, which is great for shooting! Not only did the pleasant weather make for an easy shoot, Tania and Frank were so easy to work with! I practically never had to pose them, it’s almost like they just knew what to do! Perhaps there’s some modelling experience in there somewhere? Well whatever it is, their pictures turned out amazing! Check it out:
